omega violet stands at the crossroads of indie rock, folk, and progressive music. Like out of a cabinet of curiosities, their music tends to multiply sonic directions and throw stylistic compasses off course by combining asymmetrical rhythms, fragments of musique concrète, vocals in several languages, and pop songwriting. Mental connection and improvisation create a space of freedom where they nurture friendship, automatic poetry, and a three-way exchange of ideas. Based in Normandy, Charles, Lucas, and Nicklaus have long crossed paths in numerous projects and decided to form the band in 2020. They released their first album, Hic Sunt Leones, in 2024. Its title, Latin for: Here Be the Lions, echoes the phrase used in medieval cartography to indicate unexplored areas where it was possible to imagine the wondrous. This was followed by a series of concerts and tours in numerous venues and festivals in Normandy, Paris region, southwestern France, and Belgium. In 2025, the single «Na Zare», a cover of Russian group Alyans, in collaboration with CCCParty, was released. This was also the year of the creation of new pieces they’re currently recording experimenting with modular synthesizer, guzheng, brass trio, no input… FFO: King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, Grandaddy, Flavien Berger.
