S Norton (is a band) is a new home for songs written by Simon Norton, soon to be recorded and performed with a host of musical chums. Following on from putting recent songwriting collaboration ‘forestfloor’ (who appeared at the first Compass Festival) to bed, this is anything but a solo project; many of the songs have been cowritten with author and poet Sharlene Teo and will be further shaped by the input of various Folkestone figures over the coming months. The sound is a grungey alt-folk, indie twang kinda thing, likely to tickle the ears of Big Thief, Lomelda, Wednesday, Samia, Sufjan Stevens, Bon Iver and Neil Young fans.
