Yesterday’s Flowers
Folkestone & Hythe / Shepway
Old Cigar and Olive
Yesterday’s Flowers make dreamy cosmic rock that basks in the golden glow of the early 60s California Sound – via their seaside home of Folkestone on the English Channel. With shimmers of ethereal psychedelia, expect nostalgic chords, swelling organ and sun-drenched melodies; all served on a mesmeric rhythm section. Since releasing their first three singles in 2023, the band have played sold-out shows from Folkestone to Liverpool, including a joint headliner with Congratulations (Bella Union) and SKIES at Folkestone's Quarterhouse, a support slot for Austin noise-pop band, DAIISTAR (Fuzz Club) and their own headline EP release at St Mary and St Eanswythe's Church, which saw them awarded Arts Council England funding. Early radio support has come from BBC Radio 6 Music (The Huey Show) and BBC Music Introducing, as well as local stations from Folkestone to Montréal. The band's debut EP There's Only Love was released on Friday 13 December 2024, accompanied by a limited edition cassette which features an exclusive side of unreleased acoustic versions.
